Fuzzy name matching python scripts
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
The situation is this: I am keeping a CSV mapping file of organization names with "in_name=out_name", which fixes names before I input to a master database. I am also collecting lists of new org names. So I need some python code to do fuzzy name matching on the new list and catch variations of similar names, then to merge results into an updated mapping CSV and make an output with the mapping applied.
I believe this can be done in 2 short python scripts: The first script will do matching and find the similarity scores (I have good results with the package fuzzywuzzy). The second script will merge results into a new mapping CSV and make the fixed output. Between the first and second scripts I will do a hand-check on the matches to make sure data is correct.
I have sample data and also an outline of the steps. If you have used pandas and fuzzywuzzy it should not be difficult or lengthy work. The target budget is 125 euros. (No bids over 150 euros.) The target finish date is this week on Thursday or Friday.
