Full-Stack Developer for Mobile Expense Tracker App (Flutter + Backend + Admin Panel)



Job Description:

We’re building a lean MVP for Taxlah, a mobile-first expense tracking application that allows users to record their spending and upload digital receipts. The project includes a mobile app, backend API, OCR integration, and a lightweight admin panel for internal content management.

We’re seeking a full-stack developer with experience in mobile apps, back-end services, and admin interfaces, who can deliver this as a Dockerized application ready for deployment on a VPS.

Target completion timeline: 14–21 days maximum, depending on developer availability and working hours.


Project Scope:

Frontend:
• Flutter app (iOS & Android)
• Expense logging UI
• Receipt capture (image/PDF)

Backend API (choose one):
• Golang (Gin/Fiber) preferred
• OR Node.js (Express) / FastAPI (Python)
• REST API to handle auth, uploads, and categorization

OCR Integration:
• Extract merchant, date, and amount from uploaded receipts
• Google ML Kit or Tesseract

Admin Panel (Web):
• View user activities and uploaded receipts
• Manage expense categories and content (must be editable as policies evolve)

Infrastructure:
• Supabase (Auth, DB, Storage)
• Docker + docker-compose setup
• Deployed on DigitalOcean VPS



Budget & Milestones:

Fixed Budget: $1,000 USD
Suggested Milestones:
1. Backend API & Supabase setup – $250
2. Flutter app UI + receipt upload – $250
3. OCR + categorization logic – $200
4. Admin panel MVP – $200
5. Docker deployment + testing – $100



Ideal Candidate:
• Strong experience with Flutter and REST API development
• Familiar with Golang (preferred), Node.js, or Python
• Experience integrating OCR libraries or APIs
• Proficient in Docker and modular backend architecture
• Comfortable working with Supabase or Firebase equivalents
• Able to deliver clean, well-documented code
