Full-Stack Dev for RAG Search Engine
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
We're looking for a highly skilled full-stack developer for a long-term collaboration (initial contract: 12 months). The project involves building and maintaining a modern, scalable web platform using Django (Python) and React, with a major feature being the development and integration of a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) search engine.
We’re an established tech company with ongoing internal projects and are looking to extend our development capacity through reliable freelance support. You’ll be working directly with our in-house engineering team on building core platform features as well as RAG-based intelligent document search capabilities.
Tech Stack:
- Backend: Django, Django REST Framework
- Frontend: React (Hooks, functional components)
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Version Control: Git (GitHub or GitLab)
- Preferred Extras: Docker, REST API integration, CI/CD
- New Component: RAG-based search using Opensearch
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs with Django
- Develop and optimize React-based user interfaces
- Integrate frontend and backend seamlessly
- Implement RAG pipeline (embedding, retrieval, LLM integration)
- Work with vector databases or retrieval engines (Opensearch)
- Integrate language models (e.g., OpenAI, LLaMA, Mistral, etc.) into backend workflows
- Write clean, modular, well-documented code
- Collaborate via Git and project management tools
- Participate in weekly check-ins and code reviews
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Django and React
- Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows
- Good communication skills (English)
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Long-term availability (~1 year or more)
- Bonus if you have:
-> Experience with RAG, vector databases, embedding models
-> Experience with Docker, performance tuning, or testing frameworks
Timeline & Commitment:
- Start: As soon as possible
- Duration: At least 12 months
- Timezone: Preferably overlap with Central European Time (CET) for 2–3 hours daily
- Workload: Part-time or full-time negotiable (20–40 hrs/week)
