Full Small Claims App MVP (Python + NiceGUI + Forms + Payment)
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Overview:
I’m building a web-based small claims intake app to help users complete California court forms easily and accurately. The core is prototyped in Python and NiceGUI, and I’m looking for a skilled developer to complete the full MVP, including UI, logic, payment, and PDF output.
Project Scope Includes
Form UI & Conditional Logic
Rebuild the intake flow using a tabbed layout (NiceGUI preferred)
Include all required California small claims forms:
SC-100 (Claim form)
SC-100A (Additional parties)
SC-103 (Authorization to appear)
SC-104, SC-104B (Proof of service)
All form fields must be clearly labeled, grouped by section, and written in plain English
Support conditional logic:
e.g. SC-103 only shown if the plaintiff is appearing on someone’s behalf
e.g. SC-100A appears if multiple parties
Use an existing CSV config system to drive the intake
PDF Generation
Integrate with existing code to fill out court-provided PDF templates
Map data fields from form input to the official court PDFs
Demand Letter Generation
Add an optional “Generate Demand Letter” button
Use form inputs (names, issue, amount, etc.) to fill a template
Export to PDF, downloadable by user before court filing
Should be general enough for use across all U.S. states
Payment Integration
Add basic checkout system (e.g., Stripe)
Block final PDF access until payment is completed
Generate receipt or email confirmation (basic is fine)
Hosting & Integration
Integrate into existing domain and hosting (already live: usasmallclaims.com)
CA-specific app will live at ca.usasmallclaims.com
Basic routing and deployment support may be needed
Bonus if You Have:
Experience with legal tech or PDF automation
Familiarity with FastAPI or form builders
Stripe or payment system experience
Clean UI/UX skills to make the app simple and trustworthy
Deliverables
Updated intake UI
Final working CSV config with all CA form fields mapped
Fully functional app hosted under subdomain
All core forms and demand letter downloadable as PDFs
Payment system integrated and tested
Follow-Up Work
If the initial project goes well, I plan to:
Expand to other states (e.g., NY, TX, FL)
Build out more forms and letter templates
Add AI-powered help and automation
