Fix my sorting function with python

Hello everyone,

I have made a function to sort some text files but when the files are too big it stays inside none ending loup.
This is a sample of having first file with input of:
a
a
b

Sorted will than give us
a 2
b 1

This have been made for smaller files but not so much for the bigger one.
