Django/Python Developer Needed — Recover Functionality on Legacy NGO Website

I’m looking for an experienced Django (v1.8) developer to help recover and stabilize a website for a Brazilian NGO that has been live and working well for years.

Recently, I made a small backend update:
• I edited a Python file to add one more filter condition to an existing SQL query.
• I also added a corresponding column in the database manually.

However, I didn’t complete the proper migration process. I later attempted to fix it with makemigrations/migrate, but I wasn’t sure if a previous migration was pending or missing. After that, the site started throwing unexpected errors — first a 502, then template issues related to login.

Current state:
• Homepage loads
• Login page throws an error
• I’m no longer confident it’s safe to touch anything further

Who I’m looking for:
• Someone with experience handling legacy Django (1.8) + Python (3.5) projects
• Able to diagnose the current situation, recover the original working state, and safely fix the issue
• Comfortable dealing with projects that haven’t been updated in a long time

Note: I’m currently learning Python, and this project helped me realize the importance of not touching production without a full understanding of the stack. My priority is to resolve this safely with professional support, and avoid introducing more risk through trial-and-error.
