FastAPI Debugging Expert Needed

We are looking for an experienced FastAPI developer to help debug and fix issues in an emissions benchmarking backend. Our Flutter frontend provides users with dropdown-based benchmarking options (regional average, top emitters, peer comparison), but the backend currently does not return dynamic data based on these inputs.

Your task will include:

Debugging and enhancing the /benchmark-data API endpoint

Ensuring correct parameter parsing (farm_id, benchmark_type, date range)

Applying filtering and aggregation logic to Excel-based methane emissions data

Returning chart-friendly JSON responses for the frontend

Requirements:

Strong Python & FastAPI experience

Familiarity with pandas and Excel data processing

Ability to debug API logic and improve response accuracy

Optional: experience with geolocation filtering (for peer farm comparisons)

We have the data ready and a working frontend — we just need your help to close the loop on the API logic.
