Engineering Analysis & database

I want to make a standalone or web based application (architecture needs to be decided!), which has Engineering analysis simple calculator + GUI + Database. This is mainly the engineering geometry shapes - each shape comes with characteristics of data. These shapes need capability for modification, data characteristics are modifiable in GUI, and able to interact with the Database. Many geometry shapes + their characteristics, are stored in database, with multiple data identifier, version system etc. This product will be used by engineering companies in their design department. We need developer who can have good understanding of database and GUI creation. We can think about Python + PyQt based application.
