Develop script that generates a loan data tape Excel file with data from 3rd party API

We are looking to hire a developer that can help us write a script that pulls loan transactions data from a 3rd party API and generates a loan data tape in excel.
We have both the API documentation in place as well as the excel template that we would like to populate.
Required experience: Python script development. Previous experience from working with loan data and account balances is highly meritorious.
