Databricks create table - format TIMESTAMP

when creating a table in DB the TIMESTAMP field formats date to a UNIX value.
I need the attached to format the TIMESTAMP field as mm-dd-yyyy.
This creates the table and date fields are timestamps but format is not what I need.
