Data into a Database via Python
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Purchase Details into FileMaker Pro
Max budget is $250. Delivery within 5 days.
Automate the retrieval of our own purchase details via a script run locally on an office PC and place them in our FileMaker Pro DB - both on the same local network. The volume of data will be very low - average of only 10 purchases daily.
Project Scope:
1. Using Selenium/Puppeteer automatically navigate to the required pages and extract the following:
Purchase History
• Seller Name/Supplier
• Order Number
• Listing ID
• Page URL
• PO Date of Purchase
• Item Title
• Item Image/picture (just the main one)
Item Page:
• Item Condition
• Body Text
• Condition Notes
• Private individual or a business
• Business Seller Information (if on the page)
Order Details Page:
• Est Delivery Date (if provided by seller)
• Tracking Number (if provided by seller)
• Price Per Unit
• Total Price
• QUANTITY
• Postage Cost (or total cost - unit cost*quantity)
3. Data Storage: Develop an interface or script to push the extracted data into our FileMaker Pro database. Maybe install FileMaker ODBC drivers - configure a DSN for DB - Script Connection - Use say pyodbc - Insert scraped data into tables
4. Execution: Run locally from our own IP address. Scheduled to run at predetermined times or intervals.
5. Error Handling: Notification by email/other means should any errors occur during the scraping process.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in Python or another relevant programming language.
• Experience with web scraping tools such as Selenium, BeautifulSoup, or Puppeteer.
Additional Information:
Each time a purchase is made an email should automatically be sent to the seller (via ecommerce sites messaging system) stating our purchase conditions.
There should be a user friendly graphical interface where all retrieved purchase data can be seen. It should be possible to select individual purchases or a number of selected purchases and to trigger other emails being sent to them again via the sites messaging system. These emails should be easy to edit.
Work guarantee required: a 1 month guarantee to fix any problems or bugs.
Thanks
