Data Unstacking Tool Creation
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I'm searching for an experienced developer who can create a solution to transform my stacked data into a flat file. The data currently resides in nested lists, consisting of various financial charts of accounts. The lists contain some meta-data that has to be excluded but this can be done manually pre-upload if necessary. Additionally the lists do not contain the correct column-headings that will be required for the output file.
The task would require creating a tool, perhaps using Python, Excel VBA or similar, that can be used for 'unstacking' or 'pivoting' these lists. The lists share the same characteristics at a high level but the attributes that need to be un-stacked changes per file.
This is a one-off piece of work, not part of a large, ongoing project.
Ideal skills for this project:
- Proficiency in Python and or VBA
- Familiarity with handling nested lists
- Strong understanding of financial charts of accounts is a plus
The output should be a CSV file, in which each account and its respective data are presented in a separate row. This structure will allow for streamlined processing and analysis of the data. The process should be repeatable with other stacked files in the same source-format and the tool should allow me to either upload or paste new lists on an ad hoc basis.
I have attached a manual worked example of a source data-set as well as the expected flat-file output. I have not provided the actual data-sets to be processed apart from a single additional example.
