We are a fast growing technology startup focused on creating technology that enriches quality of life. We offer a positive, inquiring, analytical, creative environment, and are seeking remote data scientists to analyze customer datasets.

Candidates should have extensive experience in Python and Big Data wrangling, insightful analysis, and reporting. Ideal candidates will be adept at natural language processing (NLP) data tasks such as scraping and pre-processing.

Candidates should be able to create data pipelines and datasets, be able to handle data anomalies, spot issues, and trendspot. We also love to integrate creative ideas for optimization, and seek candidates who can strengthen our analytical procedures, and suggest improvements in study design and methodologies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pre-process language data, including data-cleaning, data-normalization, data-tokenization, metadata-analysis, and database / dataframe creation.
Ability to expertly parse CSV, TSV, and JSON files.
Analyze and validate data to produce error-free results and reliable insights.
Design and execute experiments, and analyze experimental results
Leverage Data science framework/library to develop various model for personalization platform
Wrangle and analyze data to identify patterns and trends
Visualization of Complex Data sets: Development of prototype solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, and robust analytics leading to actionable insights communicated clearly and visually
QA all analytics deployments and verify data in reporting tools

Qualifications / Skills include, but are not limited to:
Thorough knowledge base in experimental design and statistical modeling (e.g., general/-ized linear modeling, multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, longitudinal analysis)
Strong, versatile knowledge of NLP best practices and extensive experience with data-driven Python packages and skills, including pandas, NLTK, NumPy,SciPy, RegEx).
Structured and unstructured database experience - MySQL, JSON, NoSQL
Strong Python programming skills (fast, expert creation of Python scripts to deploy NLP to datasets).
Advanced data wrangling skills in Python. Ability to test as a 3.75/5 on Python programming skills.
Ability to collaborate with a team of data analysts / data scientists.
Background in Data Science, statistics, insight analytics, mathematics, and/or related computational field.
Ability to find business and product insights in data.
Ability to create high-quality data visualizations in R (ggplot2) or Python (matplotlib, etc.)
Excellent, proactive communicator across mediums, with the ability to work well with large, cross functional teams with technical or non-technical members
4-5 years of hands-on experience authoring code for Big Data sets
Relevant BS or BA required with significant computational experience and 5+ years of related work experience
or
MS in computer science, data science, or related field and 3+ years of related work experience

Pluses:
Educated in linguistics, evaluation, research methods, data insights, behavioral analytics, applied statistics, education measurement, developmental/educational psychology, or a related field
Experienced hand at scraping websites (e.g., Beautiful Soup, Selenium, etc.)
Experience with complex API calls
Proficiency in R
Experience with Jupyter Notebooks
