1. Project Background
Our organization utilizes Odoo as our ERP solution and intends to extend its functionality to support Multi Unit of Measurement (UOM) operations across POS, Sales, Inventory, and related modules. Currently, Odoo has limited out-of-the-box support for multi-UOM pricing and sales tracking. To better align our system with operational needs and improve accuracy in pricing, sales, and inventory management, we require a custom plugin that enhances Odoo's native features.
2. Objective
To develop a custom Odoo plugin/module that enables full support for Multi UOM Sales, Pricing, and Inventory Tracking, including functionality across the POS, Sales, Quotation, Invoicing, Purchasing, and Delivery modules.
3. Scope of Work
The developer is required to design and implement a plugin that enables the following functionalities:
3.1 Product UOM Management
• Enable assignment of multiple UOMs per product.
• Allow only configured UOMs per product to be accessible at the point of sale (POS) or during sales transactions.
• Define a base UOM for each product for internal stock tracking.
3.2 POS Module & Website
• Enable sales based on multiple UOMs in the POS.
• POS users can choose from available UOMs per product.
• Display and apply UOM-based pricing during sales.
• Enable Ecommerce Website sales based on multi UOMs
3.3 Sales & Quotation Modules
• Allow sales team to select UOMs during order entry.
• Generate quotations and sales orders with selected UOMs.
• Ensure invoice accuracy reflecting correct UOM and associated price.
3.4 Pricing & Pricelists
• Allow setting different prices for different UOMs per product.
• Enable Pricelists to be UOM-aware.
• Users should be able to define a price per product per UOM per pricelist.
• Compatibility with customer-based or location-based pricelists.
3.5 Stock and Inventory Management
• Inventory should be accurately adjusted based on UOM used in sale.
• System must convert UOM sales to base UOM for consistent stock tracking.
• Stock moves should be logged with both transaction UOM and base UOM values.
3.6 Purchasing
• Odoo natively supports purchases to be entered based on UOM so no further changes are necessary for this.
3.7 Reporting & Documentation
• Ensure Delivery Notes, Packing Slips, Invoices, and Reports display the correct UOMs and quantities.
• Maintain traceability across UOM conversions and movement history.
