Create script to save email and attachements from IMAP mailbox
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
I am looking for a freelancer to create a script that will save all unread emails and their attachments from my IMAP mailbox. The mailbox is hosted by an email service provider other than Gmail or Outlook. I would like the script to be written in Python or PHP. After processing an email, the status should be set to read. So a new run will not save earlier emails again.
Attachments will be saved in their original form. Content from the email needs to be saved as plain text.
Files should have a naming convention so it is clear what text files and attachments belong together.
Specific requirements for the attachments include saving all attachments without filtering by file type or size.
Ideal skills and experience for the job include:
- Strong proficiency in Python or PHP
- Experience with IMAP protocols and email handling
- Knowledge of how to save email attachments
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
It is a solution that we will use for a maximum of a few weeks. After that it will be replaced by another.
