Consult on Python scripting for Blender
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
This small, initial project is a about defining the scope and brief for a follow-on project which will hopefully solve the following problem for us:
- We have an obj file of a part of a mold.
- We want to open up the editing of this mold to a group of freelance Blender 3D designers to create new designs in which only some parts of the original mold are changed.
- To do that we need to lock parts of the mold design to protect them from accidental change.
- We have found no way to password protect locked regions of a sculpt in Blender or ZBrush,
but it has been suggested to us that could be achieved by means of a Python Script add-on.
We are looking for a 60 minute Zoom consultation to determine which of the objectives outlined below could be achieved with a Python script in Blender.
1. lock parts of a mesh from editing
2. restrict certain edits to a specified range
3. lock a sculpting brush for detailing to a specified width and hardness
4. and limit the range of sculpting tools that can be used for the edit
5. preserve the continuity between editable and locked parts of the mesh
6. provide password protection so that only authorized users can unlock the protected features.
We are interested in hearing from freelancers who have constructive suggestions. Please quote your rate for a 1 hour conference call. Payment will be via Freelancer.com and the conference call will take place on Zoom.
