Chatbot Programmer for Website
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for a freelance developer with experience in:
Moodle (PHP) and Geniai plugin (modified code to record and play audio).
Django (backend that communicates Moodle with OpenAI and manages data in MariaDB).
OpenAI (Whisper, TTS, Realtime Mini) and API integration.
WebRTC/WebSockets to optimize audio handling.
(Moodle/Django/OpenAI).
Background
We have modified the Geniai plugin (default text only) in Moodle so that the student:
Records their audio manually (click "record" / "stop").
The audio is transcribed with Whisper.
We process the response with OpenAI.
We return the audio to the student using TTS (long process now...).
The Django backend manages the communication between Moodle and OpenAI, and uses MariaDB to store data.
Currently, premium users do not have a token limit when using the chatbot.
Project Objectives
1 - Migrate the audio process for the geniai chatbot to Realtime Mini
Keep manual recording (no real-time streaming).
Integrate this functionality into the Geniai plugin we already have.
2 - Implement a monthly token limit for premium users:
Configurable from Django.
Integrated with the MariaDB database.
Blocks access to the chatbot when the limit is exceeded.
3 - Chatbot demo on the Web (ideally with geniai itself) for the visitor. Usage experience:
The visitor registers with their email to be able to test the chatbot
Choose a topic
Sending and receiving audio (similar to Moodle) with a maximum of 3 interactions.
Show subscription option when exceeding 3 interactions.
Requirements and Modality
Experience with PHP (Moodle) to adjust the Geniai plugin.
Solid knowledge of Django for token management and business logic.
OpenAI integration (Whisper, TTS, Realtime Mini) and use of APIs.
Knowledge of WebRTC/WebSockets to improve audio streaming.
The ability to optimize databases (MariaDB) is valued.
Freelance work, with the possibility of long-term collaboration.
Infrastructure: VPS with Plesk, FTP access, Git repository in the future.

We are looking for an estimated budget and deadlines for each of the tasks:
Migration to Realtime Mini in the Geniai plugin.
Implementation of the token limit in Django.
(Optional) Test chatbot on the web.
We will work in milestones with corresponding payments.
