Automation and Workflow Developer (Python or Nodejs)

We are seeking a highly motivated Automation and Workflow Developer to join our marketing agency and work on maintaining, improving, and expanding our automation systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments to understand business needs and develop efficient, scalable automated solutions. While Python is our primary language, we are open to using other technologies like Node.js if they provide the best solutions. This role is suitable for a high junior to mid-tier developer who is eager to learn and grow with our team.

Key Responsibilities
Automation Maintenance and Enhancement:
• Maintain and improve current automation systems for efficiency and robustness.
• Update automation code to reflect business changes, such as new clients or staff.
Code Management:
• Ensure consistent code structure across automation projects for easy collaboration.
• Implement best practices for code documentation and version control using GitHub.
Logging and Error Management:
• Implement consistent logging mechanisms through Slack.
• Define Slack channels for segmented logging to categorize log levels.
• Improve error message consistency and accuracy.
Workflow Design and Configuration:
• Design and configure automated workflows using Make.com, Render.com, and Airtable.
• Set up and manage cron jobs for scheduled script execution.
• Develop conditional logic-based triggers to drive automation processes.
Integration and Data Management:
• Utilize webhooks and API integrations to connect various platforms.
• Build systems to ensure data validation and integrity within Airtable.
• Assist in designing database layouts for consistency and usability.
Collaboration and Problem Solving:
• Work with cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems.
• Implement technologies to address evolving business challenges.
• Provide support to team members in automation development.
Break-Fix Support:
• Provide troubleshooting and support for unexpected automation failures.
• Diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions to restore operations.
• Document issues and resolutions to improve future support and prevent recurrences.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python)
- Experience with automation platforms and tools (Make.com, Render.com, Airtable)
- Strong understanding of database design and management
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience with API integrations and webhooks
