Automated Topology optimization of parameterized CAD models using finite element method (FEM)
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
The aim of the work is the shape optimization of 2D CAD models.
The models should be described by NURBS (Non-uniform rational B-Splines, standard for the storage of CAD models), so that with this file a reasonable shape optimization can be carried out with this file.
The result should then be described by NURBS again and can be read in by the CAD program.
The FE simulation is limited to linear-elastic materials and the whole calculation shall be performed by a Python program.
Task:
Implementing the optimation of simple examples in a self-created
program (Python)
o Reading the file from the CAD
o Execution of the parameter-based optimization.
o Saving the optimized component in IGES or STEP format.
