App Feature for CPE/CPD Support
Budget: $15 – $25 CAD
We want to develop a feature within our app that supports licensed professionals with their Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
The system will:
Identify each user’s specific professional license/credential requirements.
Retrieve relevant, high-quality scholarly articles (preferably the most cited from most credible journals) using one or more of the followingexternal APIs:
https://core.ac.uk/
https://unpaywall.org/
https://www.semanticscholar.org/product/api
Semantic Scholar
Provides citation counts and influential citations for articles.
Potentially more refined search and ranking capabilities than CORE.
PubMed / NCBI E-Utilities
Ideal for medical and life sciences; includes robust citation and indexing information.
CrossRef
Good for DOI-based metadata and citation tracking; broad coverage of scholarly publications.
User License Data
Add license-related inputs during sign-up (e.g., license type, expiration date, areas of specialization, etc.).
Maintain a simple and intuitive user flow while capturing critical data needed for personalized content retrieval.
Article Retrieval
Integrate with the CORE API and/or other API to fetch relevant academic articles.
Explore filtering by citation count or source reputation if the API supports it.
