Algorithmic/FIX API developer needed to refactor automated trading bot

Hi everyone,
We are two friends who currently have a working algo bot engine built in Python, which was trading crypto perps on FTX up until FTX's collapse. The bot is functional, but the collapse of FTX has prompted us to shift our focus away from cryptocurrency and towards trading Forex/CFDs.
We are seeking a senior backend developer to help with this transition - taking our existing Python trading engine and refactoring it for a new market. We're looking for someone with experience in building financial products and ideally someone who has worked with cTrader, as that's the platform we are wanting to work with. This person should also have a strong understanding of FIX and REST APIs, Protocol Buffers, hosted service deployment, and Python. The developer who worked on the original crypto version is also available to assist with the transition if necessary.
We're also looking for someone we can have a personal relationship with. Our previous crypto developers were brilliant, and we had ongoing video calls to manage the project. We'd love to cultivate that level of personal relationship again.
The bot was managed through a frontend website that we designed and developed in-house, and we will continue to manage this part of the project.

Deliverables:
- Extend existing automated trading app from crypto-related integration written in Python (FTX via provided REST API) and integrate it with a traditional market integration with cTrader (combination of FIX, Protocol Buffer & REST API). Includes ensuring all endpoints and dependencies in the API from the backend are updated and functional according to cTrader.
- Deploy app (backend to Azure is ideal - we have FE hosted on Vercel currently).
Who we’re looking for:
- You understand the logic and have built products that integrate with cTrader.
- You have experience using FIX, Protocol Buffer & REST API formats.
- You have experience building financial products and are willing to work with the current solution that was built separately.
- You are strong in the backend, and are happy to work together with us on the frontend (which we will have designed and built mostly).
- Communication is key! We’ve been lucky enough to have experienced a great relationship with the initial team through solid communication - we’d love to continue that!
