I'm seeking a skilled image processing expert with strong Python proficiency for a project focused on robust edge and contour detection in photographs. The main goal is to develop and implement a spatiotemporal model of edge detection, capable of filtering out noise and enhancing image quality for further analysis.
Ideal skills include:
Extensive expertise in image processing and computer vision
Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., OpenCV, scikit-image, NumPy)
Familiarity with advanced edge detection techniques, such as Canny edge detection, and spatial-temporal filtering models
Understanding of multiscale filtering (e.g., Difference-of-Gaussians) and variance-based temporal integration
Experience in handling and processing a variety of images, including those with added noise
The objective is to enhance image quality through tailored filtering techniques, effectively isolating edges and contours for subsequent analysis. The candidate will be expected to reproduce spatial-frequency-specific effects and handle edge detection in natural images both with and without noise.
