API Rewrite: PHP to Python & FastAPI
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I'm looking to have our current API, which is written in PHP and the Laravel Lumen framework, rewritten in Python and FastAPI.
Key Requirements:
- The new API must retain all functionalities of the current one, including user authentication, data processing, and reporting functions.
- The API should be shipped in a Docker container. Exposing the API on port 80
- The backend data should be fetched using MySQL (currently MariaDB 10.5.26) and MongoDB (currently 5.0.28).
- Logging of all actions
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proficiency in Python and FastAPI.
- Experience with API development and Docker.
- Familiarity with MySQL (or MariaDB) and MongoDB.
- Ability to understand and work with detailed API documentation.
The current API's functionalities need to be retained in the new version, and I have detailed documentation available to assist with this. Please note that the backend uses MariaDB 10.5.26 and MongoDB 5.0.28. Your expertise in these technologies will be crucial to the success of this project.
The current documentation can be found here:

I will provide you with authentication details and also API keys for the current PHP API so you can test it.
