PR Specialist Needed – Indie Vampire-Hunting Film (Billy Fearless) Indiegogo Campaign
Project Description:
We’re preparing to launch an Indiegogo campaign to raise £7,500 for Billy Fearless — a proof-of-concept short film that blends coming-of-age drama, anti-bullying themes, and vampire-hunting horror-action.
The campaign page is already created. Now we need an Email Marketing and PR specialist to develop and execute a full publicity strategy, targeting horror media, indie film sites, and genre podcasts to help us reach our funding goal.
About the Film:
Billy Fearless is the story of a quiet, bullied teenager who decides he’s done being a victim. Inspired by monster hunters like Van Helsing, he sets out to become a vampire slayer and a legend in his own right.
The film is emotional, stylized, and laced with dark comedy. Think Kick-Ass meets Fright Night, but with a real emotional core.
This short will serve as a proof of concept for a full-length feature film.
Scope of Work
We need a freelancer who can take the lead on our Indiegogo PR launch:
PR Responsibilities:
Develop a clear, actionable PR strategy
Identify and compile a list of 25–50 horror, genre, and indie film media outlets and podcasts
Write and distribute a press release or custom media pitch
Personally reach out to press contacts on our behalf
Follow up with targets and log all communications
Provide a final media outreach report or contact log
Email Support:
Help draft 2–3 campaign emails (pre-launch, launch, and update)
Provide guidance on Mailchimp or a similar email tool
Ideal Candidate:
Strong background in PR or media outreach, especially in the film or entertainment space
Demonstrated success placing stories in relevant media (links or examples preferred)
Clear, persuasive writing skills
Self-sufficient with outreach and follow-up
Bonus if you’re familiar with Indiegogo and/or a fan of horror and genre films
Budget and Bonus:
Fixed budget: $418 USD
Paid via two milestones:
PR plan, press materials, and contact list
Outreach execution and results tracking
Additional Bonus:
We’re offering 0.5% of net profits from the Billy Fearless feature film (if produced), for freelancers who want to grow with the project.
Funding Target:
Our Indiegogo goal is £7,500 (approx. $9,750 USD). We’re looking to create a focused, punchy campaign that grabs genre media attention and builds buzz among horror fans.
