Media Outreach for Launch
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Securing prominent coverage for an upcoming launch is the immediate priority. The campaign centres on proactive media outreach—crafting tailored pitches, opening direct conversations with journalists and editors, and keeping the story alive until publication. A concise press kit (copy, imagery, founder quotes) is already in place; what’s missing is the strategic distribution, relationship-building, and follow-up cadence that turns assets into headlines.
Scope of work
• Build or refine a targeted media list that fits the product’s niche and audience.
• Draft compelling email pitches and short follow-up messages, adapting tone for each outlet.
• Personally reach out through email, phone, or social platforms, tracking every interaction in a shared sheet (Google Sheets, Airtable or similar).
• Provide weekly status reports summarising outreach volume, responses, opportunities secured, and next-step actions.
• Aim for a minimum of three quality placements (online or broadcast) within the first month; stretch goal: five or more.
Acceptance criteria
1. Media list includes outlet name, journalist contact, angle relevance, last contact date.
2. All sent pitches archived in a dedicated folder for transparency.
3. Coverage links or confirmed publication dates delivered as they go live.
Tools commonly used in past campaigns—Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater—are welcome if you have access, but a well-curated personal Rolodex is equally valuable. Timelines are tight: initial list and pitch draft should land within five days of kick-off, full outreach begins immediately after approval.
Questions about the product, event timeline, or preferred story angles will be answered promptly in chat so momentum stays high.
