Awakwaj argues that Africa’s continued division—political, economic, and strategic—is not accidental, but a legacy that benefits others at the continent’s expense.
“Africa is rich, yet Africans remain poor. Africa is powerful, yet Africa is ignored. This contradiction survives because we are divided.”
Africa Unity Voice rejects symbolic unity and rhetoric without action. The platform calls for:
Real continental coordination, not summit declarations
African-led decision-making, not external dependency
Collective bargaining power in global trade, security, and diplomacy
Accountability from African leaders who benefit from division
“There is no dignity in fifty-four weak voices. There is power in one strong African position.”
The initiative seeks to mobilise Africans on the continent and in the diaspora, particularly young people, to demand unity as a political necessity rather than a distant ideal.
