This assessment evaluates learning outcomes 3, 4, and 5.
3. Critically examine the impact of economics and health and social care policies on public health and provision of healthcare.

4. Critically appraise health promotion approaches to enable people to make informed choices about their health and the importance of making every contact count.

5. Critically appraise and develop the knowledge and skills that nurses require to systematically select appropriate health promotion and public health interventions to promote health effectively with individuals, families, and population.

Brief
For this task, you will present an academic poster describing a proposed health promotion intervention.
1. Create a voice-over poster on one PowerPoint slide and a second slide for Harvard references. This should be approximately 8 minutes to present. The expected reference number is 10 - 15 relevant sources.

2. Choose a specific health issue (i.e. air pollution, obesity, teenage pregnancy). Explain your evidence-based rationale for choosing this topic. For evidence, use epidemiological data and other literature that you cite.

3. Discuss health, economic, and social care policies that may impact your chosen issue/group.

4. Design a health promotion intervention that addresses the identified health issue. (Briefly describe the intervention with specifics, you can use bullet points and graphics as well)

5. Identify the health promotion approaches/frameworks/theories that inform your intervention. Include a rationale as to why this approach is the most appropriate for your proposed intervention. (You should name and apply a specific framework/theory or approach)

6. Identify the relevant skills and knowledge that you would use as a nurse to implement and evaluate this intervention. Think about some of the barriers and challenges and how you will overcome these. How will you measure if this has been successful in the long and short term? (Discuss MECC, NMC standards)

7. This should be an academic poster, such as might be presented at a conference. Your poster should be well-organised, visually interesting, clearly demonstrate the chosen intervention and address LO 3-5. You may find it helpful to create sections for each element. Consider “readability” as you design your poster- Color, font, size, also be sure to check spelling!)

8. The oral presentation (voice-over) should elaborate and expand on the content of the poster and engage your audience. It will be recorded for marking and moderating purposes only. Please refer to the information on how to add voice over the poster.
