I’d like to turn an idea I have into a working wearable: a ring-sized smart touchpad that behaves like a computer mouse. Picture a sleek band you slide onto your finger—tap or swipe on its tiny surface to left-click, right-click, or scroll just as you would on a trackpad.
Scope
• Design the electronics and enclosure for a ring-form factor.
• Implement reliable click and scroll detection on the ring’s touch surface.
• Deliver a functioning prototype that pairs over common wireless standards (Bluetooth LE preferred, open to suggestions) and is recognized by a Windows or macOS computer as a standard HID mouse.
• Provide firmware, schematic, 3D-printable enclosure files, and clear build/programming instructions so I can reproduce or iterate on the design.
Key requirements
• Wearable size and weight—comfortable for everyday use.
• Intuitive “tap for click, slide for scroll” gesture mapping.
• Battery life suitable for a full workday with USB-C or magnetic charging.
• Latency low enough to feel as responsive as a regular mouse.
