Custom Volleyball Hand Padding
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m developing a reusable padding system that slips over the thumb and wrist to dull the sting of hard-hit volleyballs without limiting dexterity or feel. What I need is a practical design I can take straight into prototyping and, eventually, small-batch production.
Key requirements
• Form factor: a single, seamless slip-on sleeve—no Velcro or external bands.
• Sizing: three clear SKUs (Small, Medium, Large) that follow standard hand measurements.
• Performance: enough impact absorption to soften serves and spikes while remaining thin and breathable so I can still set and pass comfortably.
Materials are open for discussion; I’m happy to be guided by your experience with gel inserts, layered foams, silicone blends, or any hybrid that balances protection, weight, and washability.
Deliverables
1. Detailed concept drawings or CAD files showing the sleeve layout for thumb and wrist coverage.
2. Material spec sheet with thicknesses, densities, and sourcing notes.
3. Assembly / manufacturing notes that a prototyping shop can follow.
