The cold also numbs the injury, reducing pain in the process. We can provide ice after vaccinations to help reduce pain. We can use it for bee, wasps, and yellow jacks stings. If a patient has severnt finger or toe, we can put the body part on ice until the patient receives emergency surgery. Also, ice packets have been on intermittent back order during the last two years. Also, it reduce amount of waste using plastic ice packs that becomes warm ten minutes after activation.
