Proposal to Museum

I need a concise, informative and well-written letter to the chief curator of the local art museum to propose what will inevitably a successful popular exhibit, i.e., a collection of work by lens-less photographers around the country.

That letter must establish that:

This is an ideal time and place for such a show and that I am the person in this town best qualified to curate it.

I have curated two successful local exhibits featuring this unique form of photography.

I have created an impressive body of work in this form.

I have already exhibited at the local museum.

I want also to address the growing awareness that technology has its downsides and that low tech photography will be both a welcome change in viewing and a statement in itself.

I envision the written part of the proposal as three separate documents. The first will include and expand on the above. The second will discuss the camera obscura through several centuries and the lensless photography that followed, including some of its unorthodox methods and interesting practitioners. The third will suggest activities and physical items, books on the subject, prints, postcards, low tech cameras, etc. that might accompany the exhibit.
