Draft UNHRC Proposal on South Sudan

I am finalising a formal proposal to the United Nations Human Rights Council on behalf of Africa Unity Voice for the next session under Agenda Item 3: the promotion and protection of all human rights. The draft already outlines concerns about South Sudan’s prolonged political transition, delayed elections, and the resulting impact on civil and political rights. It now needs to be sharpened, properly sourced, and formatted so it meets every technical requirement of a UNHRC written submission.
The document must centre on three thematic areas—political transition, electoral processes, and human-rights protection—while clearly emphasising the risks of undermined political participation, eroded public trust in institutions, and threats to long-term stability. I want a clear, persuasive narrative supported by recent legal texts, UN reports, and credible civil-society data. Tone should remain diplomatic yet firm, reflecting both respect for peace-building efforts and urgency for a time-bound democratic roadmap.

• A concise executive summary not exceeding 300 words
