We are looking for a dedicated and highly resourceful freelancer to help us find a long-term rental or property to purchase in a very specific region of Southwest Germany. This is a detailed and challenging search, requiring a proactive and meticulous approach.

The Challenge:

Our family is searching for a home that meets a unique set of needs, balancing a desire for a quiet, nature-oriented lifestyle with convenient access to a larger city. We have a very clear vision for our future home and require an expert to navigate the German real estate market on our behalf, pre-vetting properties to save us time and ensure they meet our strict criteria.

Your Task:

Your primary role will be to conduct a comprehensive search for suitable properties (houses or large ground-floor apartments) that meet our detailed requirements listed below. This will involve:

• Active Property Sourcing: Systematically searching online real estate portals (such as ImmoScout24, ImmoWelt, Kleinanzeigen) and identifying local real estate agents (Immobilienmakler) in the target region.

• Clear Communication: Professionally communicating our specific needs (in German) to agents and sellers.

• Rigorous Vetting: Filtering all potential properties against our detailed criteria and asking clarifying questions to ensure a perfect match.

• Detailed Reporting: Presenting only the most suitable, pre-vetted options to us with clear summaries in English. We prefer minimal direct involvement in the day-to-day search but require regular, concise updates on your progress.

Our Requirements:

We have categorized our needs to clarify what is essential and what is a preference.

Must-Haves (Rigid Requirements):

• Region: The far southwest of Germany (south of Breisach, west of Blumberg).

• Proximity to a City: Located within an approximately 20-minute car drive to a city with a population of over 50,000.

• Quiet Location: Situated in a quiet area with no through traffic and minimal road noise, ideally in a traffic-calmed zone ("verkehrsberuhigter Bereich").

• Natural Surroundings: The property must be close to nature or a forest.

• Privacy and Garden: A large, secluded garden that is not overlooked is essential. It must have space for trees and vegetable beds, and the property should offer a view of nature from at least two sides to minimize views of neighboring properties.

• Sufficient Space: The layout must accommodate one to two children's rooms, a home office (which can be a combined-use room), and a guest/hobby/sports room.

• Bright Interior: The house or apartment must be bright, with large and numerous windows.

• Bathroom with Window: The main bathroom must have a window.

• Bathtub: The property must include a bathtub.

• Large Kitchen: A spacious kitchen suitable for family cooking.

Required Skills:

• Fluent in German (native or C1/C2 level): Essential for communicating with agents, sellers, and landlords.

• Good command of English: For all reporting and communication with us.

• Excellent Research and Organizational Skills: You must be able to manage a detailed and specific search process efficiently.

• Proactive and Persistent: This search will require dedication and a determined approach.

• Familiarity with the German Real Estate Market: Strong experience with both renting and purchasing processes in Germany is a major plus.

• Knowledge of the Target Region: Understanding the geography, transport links, and local nuances of the specified area in Southwest Germany is highly beneficial.
