I need an Editor for my 98K word book
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Goal:
I'm new to this process and somewhat overwhelmed by the number of options. For the moment, I've ruled out self-publishing due a single comment summarizing the process, "you'll embarrass yourself...".
I'd like someone to read my manuscript and tell me what it needs. Once the story is shaped up, I'd like help locating a literary agent.

Examining the wisdom and errors of the human heart, this is the story of two outcast yet profoundly gifted teens whose paths inadvertently cross. Despite differences in self-assurance, gender, and background, a friendship grows. Through great effort and a dash of good fortune, they begin to free each other from the grip of difficult pasts and begin to find meaning in their lives. However, a perceived slight leads to the introduction of a third teen. And while she has similar talent, she does not come from a dysfunctional family and therefore cannot comprehend the lasting scars of such a plight. Yet learning of their upbringing, she developers respect coupled with a strange envy. Eventually realizing her initial assessment was monumentally wrong, she attempts to circumvent her original goal.
