Mina – Kind-hearted, single, still hurt over losing Ernest. Abigail – Mina's former best friend. Ernest – Abigail's boyfriend, Mina's ex-boyfriend. Sarah – Cheerful but impatient. Jason – Sarah's boyfriend. Linda – Outspoken and stubborn. Mark – Linda's boyfriend. Rachel – Quiet and observant. Daniel – Rachel's boyfriend. The Little Girl – A mysterious child who is secretly a vampire.
SCENE 1: ON THE ROAD
A group of friends travel in a van toward a picnic site deep in the countryside. Laughter fills the vehicle.
Suddenly—
BOOM!
The van jerks violently.
MARK What was that?
JASON The tire!
The vehicle stops. Everyone gets out and discovers that one of the tires has burst.
DANIEL There's no signal here. We may have to walk.
SARAH Seriously? We've come all this way.
MARK The picnic site isn't too far. Let's move.
The group gathers their belongings and begins walking through a quiet bush path.
SCENE 2: THE GIRL UNDER THE TREE
After several minutes of walking, Rachel stops.
RACHEL Wait... do you guys see that?
Under a large tree sits a little girl wearing a faded white dress. Her head is lowered.
LINDA Why is a child out here alone?
MINA Maybe she's lost.
ABIGAIL Mina, don't go near her.
MINA Why not?
ABIGAIL Something doesn't feel right.
Mina glares at Abigail.
MINA Since when do you care about me?
Abigail lowers her eyes.
MINA You took Ernest from me. Don't pretend to be my friend now.
ERNEST Mina, stop.
MINA Stay out of this.
Ignoring everyone, Mina walks toward the little girl.
MINA Hello? Are you okay?
The little girl slowly raises her head. Her eyes are strangely pale.
LITTLE GIRL I'm tired.
MINA Where are your parents?
The girl doesn't answer.
LITTLE GIRL Will you hold my hand?
Mina hesitates before gently taking her hand.
The little girl's skin is ice cold.
LITTLE GIRL Do you have water?
MINA Of course.
Mina hands her a bottle.
Meanwhile, the others grow impatient.
SARAH Mina! Come on!
JASON We're wasting time.
LINDA Leave the child. Someone else will find her.
ABIGAIL No. We should help her.
LINDA Since when are you the hero?
The group begins arguing.
Eventually, Mark steps forward and pulls Mina away.
MARK Enough. Let's go.
The little girl slowly stands.
For a brief second, Rachel notices something terrifying.
The girl's eyes flash red.
RACHEL Did anyone see—
Before she can finish, the little girl smiles.
A smile filled with sharp, unnatural teeth.
FADE TO BLACK.
