Translator Needed French Dramatic Screenplay Translation
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
We are looking for a skilled translator to translate a French dramatic screenplay into English. This project requires more than a direct translation – we need someone who can capture the humor, pacing, and dialogue style so the story feels natural and authentic to an international audience.
The ideal candidate should have:
Fluency in French and English (native-level command preferred).
Experience translating screenplays, plays, or other dramatic works.
Strong understanding of humor, cultural nuance, and dialogue flow.
Ability to maintain the emotional rhythm and pacing of the original text.
Important Notes:
New freelancers are welcome to apply. We value creativity and cultural sensitivity as much as experience.
Applicants may be asked to provide a short sample translation.
If you have a passion for storytelling and the ability to bring characters’ voices to life across languages, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply for This Project
1. Introduce Yourself
Write a short introduction about who you are and your background in translation.
If you’re a new freelancer, tell us why you’re interested and what makes you a good fit.
2. Show Relevant Experience
Mention any past work with screenplays, plays, or dramatic/literary translations (if available).
If you don’t have direct experience, highlight skills that will help you preserve tone, humor, pacing, and dialogue style.
3. Sample Translation (Optional but Preferred)
If possible, include a short sample of your translation work (a page or excerpt).
If you don’t have a past sample, we may send you a short test excerpt.
4. Your Bid
Clearly state your rate (per word, per page, or fixed price).
Mention your expected timeline for completing the project.
5. Final Note
We are open to new freelancers, so don’t hesitate to apply even if this is your first project.
