The Weight of an Oath: a soldiers story

Job ID: 39831397

Budget: $8 – $15 CAD

I would like to work with someone to create a novel. I don't mind doing the work, but I do struggle as this is my first project in writing. I have already started, but I feel like there is something missing within my writing. I would love to work with someone to help me develop my writing style! My novel pitch is below:

In the fractured borderlands of the Empire of Auren Vel, war has returned. But this is no ordinary war of swords and shields — it is a battle fueled by secrets long buried, and by the silent wars carried inside every soldier’s heart.

Titus Varros, a fourth-generation soldier, has lived his entire life in the shadow of his family’s oath of service. Haunted by the memory of a father broken by war and estranged from a brother who chose a different path, Titus enlists to uphold the Varros name — and to find meaning in the legacy that has claimed every man before him.

When a brutal night battle leaves him scarred by both steel and sorcery, Titus begins to suspect that his wound carries more than pain. Whispers spread through the ranks of a forgotten relic — the Shard of Veyra — a weapon of the old wars that enemy forces seek in the Wild Marches. And with every clash, every loss, Titus feels the weight of his family crest and oath press heavier against him, as if his bloodline itself is tied to the secrets being unearthed.

But holding the line against a cunning, magic-fueled enemy is only part of his war. Within his own ranks, Titus must battle arrogance, poor leadership, and officers who put pride above lives. And within himself, he fights the same creeping shadow that hollowed his father: the war that doesn’t end when the blade is sheathed.

If you are interested in working with me on this project, please start a chat with me, as I am looking to work with someone who can spend some time helping me find my writing style. I believe myself to be an open person and always open to mentorship to get this project completed.

I have uploaded my first chapter to help give you an idea of my writing style.
