Precise PDF-to-Word Conversion

I have a several PDFs (one chapter each) that was created from an old typewrite manuscript. Every OCR pass I’ve tried has struggled with the quirky serif fonts and uneven scanning, so I now need a clean, manually verified conversion to Word.

Here’s what I’m after: the body text must be fully editable, laid out in paragraph form, but all of the original running headers and footers should disappear. Paragraph breaks, italics, punctuation, and any section or chapter headings should look natural in Word, yet I don’t need complicated styles—just something that lets me jump straight into editing once you’re done.

Deliverable
• One Word file with each chapter mirroring the manuscripts pagination and basic formatting, minus those old headers/footers.
• No stray OCR artifacts, hyphen-spliced words, or mis-read characters; I want to be able to run a spell-check and find next to nothing.
