Memoir Interview & Writing Project – Local Only (Covington or Mandeville, LA) -- 2

I am hiring a local freelance writer with strong interviewing and transcription skills to assist in documenting a personal life story for a memoir project.
The work involves conducting and recording a series of short, in-person interviews with a senior participant, transcribing the material, and helping shape it into an organized written narrative.
This is a creative writing and oral-history project, not medical or therapeutic work. The goal is to produce a short memoir manuscript (approximately 20–30 pages) based on recorded interviews.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-person interviews in Covington or Mandeville, Louisiana (approx. 20–30 minutes per session, up to three times per week)
Record audio and take notes during each session
Transcribe interviews accurately within 48 hours
Organize transcripts and identify story themes
Draft a short outline and synopsis for approval
Write the first draft of the memoir based on approved structure
Required Skills
Journalism, Creative Writing, or Ghostwriting experience
Excellent listening and transcription accuracy
Professional writing and editing skills
Reliability and discretion with personal information
Must live locally or within driving distance of Covington / Mandeville
