Hiring for Proofreader (Remote)

Job Description:

You must be proficient in basic and advanced grammar rules and understand how they are used within our style guides. Our ideal candidate is meticulous in reviewing copy, noting errors such as punctuation, spelling, and word usage, and knows how to check statements for accuracy or potential plagiarism. You must communicate effectively with the writers and other staff to ensure documents meet all company guidelines.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree most preferably in English, journalism, or mass communication, or in a related field.
2 years of experience proofreading or editing written content.
Knowledge of standard proofreading practices, procedures, and concepts is also required
Attention to details: Proofreaders are able to identify and rephrase grammatical errors to ensure an error-free text
Spelling/Grammar Skill: They are able to correctly assemble words and apply them in writing.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant experience
Proficiency in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office
Familiarity with style guides
Excellent grammar and communication skills
Fact-checking and research expertise
