Job Description The Project Manager - Park Optimization identifies and leads project work aimed at optimizing Guest, Cast, and business initiatives for Park Operations.

The Project Manager - Park Optimization will work with project teams and partners to effectively communicate and execute the organizations priorities, including delivering new business models to optimize our business, identifying process improvement opportunities, championing change management across all levels, and understanding and eliminating barriers to create a frictionless Guest and Cast experience.

You will report to the Manager - Park Operations Planning. You will have a high level of proficiency in developing strategic business cases, influencing senior leaders, demonstrating project management/integration, leading a cross-functional team, with a deep understanding of the Park Operations business. They will be responsible for driving an on-time delivery across a variety of projects simultaneously.

You will blend strategy, project management, project delivery, data analytics, story-telling, and metrics integration while coordinating and leading cross-functional partners including Operations, Consumer Insights & Analytics, Finance, Revenue Management, Legal, Public Affairs, HR, Labor Relations, Marketing Strategy and Sales, Digital & Technology, Commercial Strategy, and Industrial Engineering, among others. Microsoft Project Lab requirements:
You have completed three interviews. As part of the final hiring process, WDW has presented you and all its final candidates with a problem and will make their final hiring decision based on your plan.

Problem and Project Details:

WDW wants you to manage a project that will create a Guest Services app that can track and inform its guests about Covid-related information as part of its risk management strategy. This tracking will be in real-time and placed into a Web-enabled system that tracks WDW guests in the park and its hotel properties. This solution will enable customers and WDW to be proactive should someone be found to be infected at a later date. Consideration of cloud computing, app development, testing, and any related WBS tasks and work packages are to be considered.

WDW welcomes over 20 million visitors to its parks annually so the system must be scalable with uptime noted as an essential requirement.

You are to address this problem by your best guess on realistic estimations in Microsoft Project by:

Developing a work breakdown structure that includes at least 30 work packages with action verbs rolled up into six major phases or deliverables.
Ensuring your Microsoft Project plan does not exceed a 180-day duration and is listed as days. (Remember to have the top line item as the rollup!)
Ensuring your Microsoft Project plan is appropriately sequenced and provides at least ten predecessor activities.
Ensuring your Microsoft Project plan has a minimum of ten resources assigned to ALL the tasks with appropriate naming of Resource Groups and Costs.
Assigning at least four milestones.
MS Project Information section that explains your project plan.

Next part of the assignment, you will create a 2 paragraph review explaining to the WDW hiring manager how your project plan was developed and aligned towards project planning, estimation, and meeting the said project requirements.

Your submission will:

Describe your project approach and solution to the hiring manager
Articulate the appropriate phases of the project management lifecycle
Articulate risks and how you intend to mitigate them
