World Cup Tech Project Manager
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need an experienced project manager to take full ownership of our technical team as we prepare for the upcoming World Cup initiative. Your primary responsibility will be team management and coordination—making sure every engineer, developer, and support specialist knows what to deliver, when to deliver it, and how their work fits into the bigger picture.
Scope of work
• Create and maintain a concise project timeline that keeps the technical stream aligned with event milestones.
• Coordinate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring blockers are cleared quickly.
• Track progress in our existing Jira setup and keep documentation tidy in Confluence.
• Liaise with me and other stakeholders, translating technical status into clear, actionable updates.
Essential skills
• Demonstrated technical expertise in the relevant technologies we are using (AWS for infrastructure, Node.js on the backend, and React for our fan-facing apps).
• Hands-on experience leading distributed technical teams through fast-moving, high-visibility projects.
Nice to have
Strong leadership and communication skills or advanced problem-solving abilities are always welcome, but the non-negotiable requirement is deep technical know-how so you can make confident, informed decisions on the fly.
Deliverables
1. A baseline project plan within the first week.
2. Weekly status reports with clear action items.
3. A final post-event review capturing lessons learned and improvement recommendations.
If you thrive in high-pressure, globally watched environments and can keep a technical crew running like clockwork, I’d love to hear how you can help us deliver a flawless World Cup experience.
