Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of two important platforms. The ideal candidate will manage both the ongoing support and development initiatives, ensuring seamless execution across teams, alignment with client objectives, and timely delivery of high-quality results. This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Ownership: Own and manage all aspects of the UgMO and BERT platforms, including development, maintenance, and optimization efforts.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with the development, QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks and clear communication across all stakeholders.

Resource Management: Manage both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring that the right resources are allocated to the right tasks in both the development and maintenance phases.

Agile Methodology: Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensure the team follows agile practices for iterative development and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management: Regularly engage with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and align development with business goals. Establish clear channels for feedback and ensure client satisfaction.

Timeline and Budget Management: Track project timelines and budgets, ensuring that milestones are met within the allocated resources and costs. Take corrective actions when necessary to keep projects on track.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project scope, timeline, and resources. Proactively address any blockers to ensure uninterrupted progress.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure that both platforms are maintained to the highest standards by coordinating with the QA team for testing, bug fixing, and performance monitoring. Implement continuous improvements based on client feedback and system performance metrics.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation and reports for every phase of the project. Provide regular status updates to internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Client Communication: Regularly engage with the client, addressing project milestones, requirements, and feedback. Ensure clear understanding and alignment on the next steps.

Requirements:

Experience: 5-7 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of managing both development and maintenance projects in a technical environment.

Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, IoT platforms, and cloud infrastructure.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Agile development, and DevOps practices.

Understanding of IoT device communication, backend architectures, and data management.

Agile Expertise: Strong experience leading projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and managing both development and maintenance phases.

Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across diverse groups (development, QA, DevOps, product owners).

Stakeholder Management: Skilled at managing client relationships, understanding client needs, and translating them into actionable tasks for the team.

Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle technical challenges and find solutions under pressure.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients.

Risk Management: Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively, ensuring smooth project delivery without disruptions.

Budget & Time Management: Ability to track and manage project budgets and timelines effectively, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Tools: Proficient in Jira, Confluence, Trello, or other project management tools.

Candidates must be based in Canada.
