Small Business Operations Manager Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I run a compact but fast-moving firm that blends legal services with project delivery, and I’m ready to hand day-to-day control to an experienced all-round business manager. Your background should be broad-based—someone who has steered departments or entire companies before—because the challenges here change from hour to hour.
Your first mandate is simple: keep everyone productive. Two lawyers, a pair of project managers, and a handful of support staff all rely on clear priorities, timely feedback, and smooth hand-offs. You’ll monitor workloads, clear bottlenecks, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. Our current stack includes Google Workspace, and Trello; if you prefer other tools, pitch them and we’ll test.
At the same time you’ll maintain meticulous records of what was done, when, and by whom. Every invoice, contract revision, and task completion should be easy to retrieve in seconds. Weekly you’ll translate those data points into concise performance snapshots so I can see productivity trends, utilisation rates, and any early warnings on profitability.
Finally, the bottom line matters. You will review costs, track billable hours, flag scope creep, and suggest tweaks that keep each project and the overall business in the black.
Deliverables I expect during the first month:
• A written workflow map showing how tasks move from intake to completion
• A shared dashboard that visualises workload, deadlines, and resource utilisation in real time
• A simple monthly P&L summary with actionable commentary
If you thrive on organising people, love squeezing extra efficiency out of everyday processes, and can balance the needs of lawyers, PMs, and clients alike, let’s talk.
