This past spring, I had a concrete pad installed for a 24x35 metal building (garage) in Iredell County, NC. Prior to the installation, I contacted the county building inspectors to confirm the required inspections. They advised that my vendor would be familiar with the necessary procedures. However, my vendor, who does not frequently work in this county, informed me that no inspections were needed.
After the building was installed, the county inspector informed me that the concrete pad should have been inspected beforehand. They stated that they would accept a confirmation of compliance from a Registered Design Professional (RDP) in lieu of the missed inspection.
I have photos, videos, and a written summary from the installer detailing the work that was performed.
