Manchester Interior Finishing Inspector
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I’m looking for a qualified clerk of works who can give my newly refurbished Manchester home a final once-over focused solely on interior finishing. The structural work is complete and building-regulation sign-off is already in hand; what I now need is an expert eye that will confirm the cosmetic quality of the job before I release the last payment to the contractor.
Scope of the visit
The refurbishment covers the entire house, so every room must be walked, but two zones need particular scrutiny: the new kitchen & two remodelled bathrooms, plus all doors and windows that were replaced. I want confirmation that paint lines are crisp, tiles are even and properly grouted, cabinets and worktops are level, seals are watertight, ironmongery is secure, and all trims, architraves and skirtings are blemish-free.
Deliverables
• Detailed snagging report itemising any workmanship faults, colour mismatches or product damage
• Photographic evidence for each flagged item
• A brief prioritised action list so the contractor knows exactly what to remedy
Timing & access
The property is ready now; a single half-day site visit should be sufficient, with the finished report returned to me within 24 hours of inspection. I’ll arrange keys and contractor liaison to ensure uninterrupted access.
Payment Details: Payment will start at £15 per hour with potential increases based on experience. This is a part-time role for now with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future. It’s also intended as a permanent position.
Preference: Strongly prefer someone with a Manchester accent.
