Your report will be an example of secondary research, i.e. you will be reviewing and presenting appropriate literature, you will not be undertaking primary research. Please Note, it is important that you read widely around the subject and do not rely solely on the text books, examples or lectures presented in the class sessions.
Content:
You should discuss the relationship between business objectives, programmes, projects and benefits realisation. Consider how a business should be organised in order to take advantage of a project management methodology and a PPSO (Programme and Project Support Office) to achieve the business strategy. Your answer should include how a PPSO could be implemented in an organisation and consider how its implementation would benefit all members of the project team. When answering the question you should also: Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with users and practitioners. Apply this knowledge and understanding in a practical and realistic way (use case studies to back up what you say). Analyse the suitability of current approaches, relating theory to practice. Demonstrate Synthesis/Creativity in approaching relating and structuring your answer.
Use the marking criteria to guide your construction of the report and the contents.
The marking criteria has headings you should use. You can ask for assistance and guidance during the scheduled periods from your Associate Lecturer, to ensure that you are on the correct path.

Report Format: 10%
Main body: 60%
Use of Case Studies and Research: 10%
