Health Research Specialist - Remote Position -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Personal Assistant or Project Manager – Health Research Specialist (Remote)
Role overview
A highly driven personal assistant or project manager is sought to provide in‑depth research on health issues, with an emphasis on actionable, evidence‑based insights. This role combines rigorous research, clear synthesis, and proactive coordination to help design and optimize practical experiments around sleep, supplements, energy, and overall wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Research high‑quality, science‑based information on topics such as supplements, sleep and insomnia, energy, metabolic health, stress, and related areas, drawing on clinical, academic, and practitioner sources.
Synthesize findings into clear, concise memos, including pros/cons, levels of evidence, safety considerations, and step‑by‑step implementation options.
Connect disparate ideas into coherent project plans, helping to “put the pieces together” across multiple experiments or protocols.
Track open questions, propose next steps, and maintain simple systems (docs, spreadsheets, checklists) so nothing important is dropped.
Communicate regularly via written updates, flagging risks, tradeoffs, and decision points without waiting to be asked.
Required qualities
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Problem solving and resourcefulness at a very high level
You find answers even when they are not obvious, comparing multiple sources, thinking several steps ahead, and designing creative ways to test or validate ideas.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, identifying constraints, and proposing pragmatic options rather than stopping at obstacles.
Initiative and motivation
You consistently take the next intelligent action without needing constant prompts, and you volunteer useful lines of inquiry or project ideas.
You show strong internal drive to improve health outcomes and systems, not just to complete assigned tasks.
Insight, intelligence, and systems thinking
You can connect research across sleep, supplements, lifestyle, and psychology into integrated, testable approaches rather than isolated tips.
You demonstrate high comprehension, pattern recognition, and the ability to explain complex material in simple language.
Excellent communication skills
You write clearly, succinctly, and precisely, with structured notes, bullet points, and logical recommendations.
You are direct, honest, and professional, able to raise concerns, disagree respectfully, and document reasoning so decisions are easy to follow.
Health knowledge and research background
Strong research skills: literature searches, comparing studies, evaluating source quality, and summarizing evidence for non‑experts.
Demonstrated interest or background in healthcare, integrative or functional medicine, or adjacent fields (e.g., psychology, physiology, nutrition).
Familiarity with topics such as:
Sleep and insomnia (sleep hygiene, CBT‑I concepts, circadian rhythm, common medications and supplements).
Supplements (safety, dosing ranges, interactions, and quality considerations).
Energy, fatigue, stress, and related factors like blood sugar, hormones, and lifestyle design.
Cultural fit and application instructions
This project is best suited to someone who is personally fascinated by health optimization and who cares deeply about turning knowledge into real‑world change for a single, high‑engagement client. Curiosity, integrity, and long‑term thinking are essential, as is comfort working with a founder who moves quickly and values autonomy and candor.
To apply, please submit:
A brief background (no CV needed at this stage) highlighting your most relevant research or health‑related experience.
1–2 concrete examples that show your problem solving, resourcefulness, and ability to connect disparate pieces into a coherent project or recommendation.
A short section (approximately 300–400 words) explaining:
Why this specific project is highly appealing to you.
What personal characteristics make you a strong cultural fit (values, working style, curiosity, relationship to health, etc.).
How you stay current on health information, and how you distinguish strong evidence from weak or misleading claims.
Applications that do not address the cultural‑fit questions in depth will not be considered, as alignment on motivation and mindset is a critical part of this role
