Custom Modern-Distressed Telecaster Finish

Job ID: 39941382

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’d like to turn my stock Fender Telecaster into a true one-off. The centerpiece is a modern artistic distressing treatment: worn edges, subtle checking, and purposeful scuffs that look earned rather than faked. Paint work or strategic stickers can play a supporting role, but the relic vibe must still feel fresh and contemporary, not purely vintage.

I’ll ship the fully stripped body (or the whole guitar if you prefer) to you. We can brainstorm colour layers, possible stencil or decal accents, and exactly how far to push the wear. I’m happy to jump on a video call and sketch ideas together before anything starts.

What I need from you when you respond is simple—show me examples that prove you’ve distressed or refinished guitars, basses, or at least comparable wooden instruments before. A short note on the techniques and finishes you enjoy using (nitro, poly, oil, custom pigments, etc.) will help me gauge fit.

Once we agree on the final concept, I’d expect:

• The finished, sealed guitar body ready for hardware
• Progress photos so I can sign off at key stages (base coat, first round of wear, final clear)
• A safe return shipment arranged with proper packing

Turn-around is flexible within reason; quality matters more than speed. Let’s make this Tele something that starts conversations the moment it’s lifted from the case.
