Civil Structural & Management Engineer
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer or Site Designer to assist with final compliance items for a residential rehabilitation project in Nevada County, California (16343 Rattlesnake Road).
Our landscape architect has flagged several items required before the package can be stamped for county review. We are not proposing any grading, and lighting/electrical compliance is already complete. The scope we need help with is focused on drainage and environmental control measures.
Scope of Work:
Drainage Plan / Analysis
• Provide a drainage plan with flow arrows documenting existing runoff.
• Confirm compliance with Nevada County requirements for projects under the 500 sq ft impervious threshold (i.e., drainage analysis not required unless exceeded).
• If necessary, prepare a preliminary drainage analysis per county standards.
Dust Control & Erosion / Sediment Control
• Prepare plan notes/details to address erosion and sediment control (e.g., straw wattles, silt fencing, stabilized entrance).
• Confirm whether a full Dust Control Plan is required (site disturbance will be under 1 acre) and prepare details accordingly.
Deliverables:
Civil sheet(s) suitable for inclusion in the stamped landscape package.
Compliance documentation that meets Nevada County Community Development Agency requirements.
Clear markups or CAD/PDF deliverables that integrate into our landscape plan set.
Requirements:
Licensed Civil Engineer in California preferred (or experience with similar county submittals).
Familiarity with Nevada County drainage, grading, and erosion control thresholds.
Ability to produce timely, permit-ready plan sheets.
Project Notes:
No grading or cut/fill work is proposed.
Lighting, electrical, and planting plan items are already addressed.
We are looking for a focused scope: drainage + erosion/dust control only.
To Apply:
Please include:
1. Relevant experience with California/Nevada County drainage and erosion control plans.
2. Sample work (PDFs or excerpts).
3. Estimated timeline
